ARCH655 Project 1
For project one, I decided to research and learn more about the parametric design of the canopy at the Smithsonian Institution courtyard designed by Foster + Partners located in Washington DC. The priority of this project was to create a more abstract form of the canopy with the ability to create variations along with creating a simple mass and structural form for the canopy. The use of AI was implemented to create design concepts to be implemented in the grasshopper modeling. Mass Modeling: For the mass modeling, I created an outline of the building to then extrude the surface towards the z-axis with the slider. Columns Modeling: The column design was created using two points and using the pipe
